Insidious Review

Insidious was a brilliant film, It's even better than the woman in black. it features the same horror film conventions but i'll get to that when i get to it.
The intro, Well where can i start with the intro, it takes 30 seconds for the film to actually get to the plotline but here comes to the actual introduction of the film. me and my mum were sat here for about a minute waiting for the film to start so i decided to skip it and i must have skipped past 2/3 minutes of the film just because of the intro.

during the film, when the little boy fell off the ladder, A very high piano struck, which i thought was quite weird and strange and it just sounded cheap but as you progress through the film, the striking of the piano makes perfect sense.

It's a really good film, there were a few moments in the film when i jumped so the tension was very well brought up with the array silence brought up by the music. Demons/creatures were moving but didn't interact with it's surrounding and look like they were manicins, and lifeless even though they were moving a normal person would do and blink like a normal person would do.

as you progresss through the film, it changes from mood to mood and i'm not saying it's a bad thing, i'm actually saying it's a good thing and more movies should do this. Instead of dragging out one plotpoint, they've tried different theories and different techniques and it pulls off in the end. Things change, things advance and things get better as you're going through the movie.

I'm going to give insidious a 8.5/10, Not a lot of films can pull it off, usually scary films aren't naturally scary for me but with the people walking through the house and having a look round, i was constantly thinking, 'i wouldn't be able to control myself' I'd say i was putting myself in their situation and if i was them, i wouldn't have the guts to do it.

Thanks for reading
